Design is the first language a car speaks. Before you open the door, before you touch the screen, before you press the accelerator — you see the car. The XPENG L03 was designed to say one thing from the very first glance: this is a car that looks like the future, and it speaks a design language shaped over a lifetime of defining what desirable cars look like.
The L03's design is led by JuanMa Lopez, XPENG's Vice President of Design. Before XPENG, Lopez spent more than two decades in European performance-car studios — including a tenure as Head of Exterior Design at a famous luxury car brand, where he shaped the look of some of the brand's most celebrated models. Under his direction at XPENG, a global design team drawing on talent from 23 countries applies that same performance-car discipline to the SUV segment.
The result is a car that carries supercar design discipline into the SUV segment: a wide-body stance, coupé proportions and a fastback silhouette that look like they belong on a grand tourer, not a family car.

The L03 is built on XPENG's "Vital Flow" design philosophy — the idea that a car should look alive even when it is standing still. The body is sculpted around flowing, muscular surfaces that catch and bend light, giving the car a sense of forward motion before a single wheel turns.
That philosophy shows in the proportions. The L03 uses a golden-ratio stance with a wheel-height ratio of 0.46 and a width-to-height ratio of 1.20 — a wide, low, planted posture that reads as sporty from every angle, while the fastback roofline flows uninterrupted from the windscreen to the tail.
The L03's looks are not just for show. The design team completed 22 aerodynamic optimisations across the body, bringing the drag coefficient down to just 0.228 — among the best in the global production-SUV segment, and a figure that delivers a meaningful range benefit on top of the visual drama.
It is the kind of engineering that makes a car both faster and more efficient without sacrificing an inch of style: frameless doors, near-flush side windows and a sculpted rear that extends the body into one long, elegant profile.
Up close, the L03 keeps giving. The signature split headlights and the ultra-red full-width light bar give the car an unmistakable face — day or night. Six exterior paint finishes (including Stellar Purple and Graphite Gray) are applied with high-gloss clearcoat and a 3C2B painting process, giving the bodywork a depth and richness that feels far above the price class.
Inside, the same discipline continues: a wraparound cabin with a bold, clean palette, premium materials and a minimalist layout where the technology — the floating central display, the ambient lighting — is integrated into the design rather than bolted onto it.

Design is something you wear, not just something you park. The L03's low, wide stance and fastback profile carry the same quiet confidence as a well-cut jacket — sharp from the front, clean from the side, right from behind. And the paint does the styling for you: Stellar Purple for the evenings that deserve a little theatre, Graphite Gray for the mornings that do not.
Pull up outside a cafe on a Saturday morning and the L03 holds its own on any street — unmistakable after dark thanks to the full-width light bar, unmistakable in daylight thanks to the proportions. It is the kind of design that looks right in a showroom and even better in the places you actually go: the school run, the beach carpark, the friend's place at night.
Great design is not just beautiful — it is useful. The L03's coupé silhouette hides genuine practicality: a spacious second row, flexible cargo space and a cabin designed for long drives and daily life alike. It is the rare car that looks like a sports car, lives like an SUV, and thinks like an AI device.
The XPENG L03 is proof that you do not have to choose between a car that turns heads and a car that works hard. It is designed by a team that treats design as a discipline, engineered to global standards, and built for the way the world actually drives.
