Melbourne, 21 July 2026 - XPENG Motors Australia Pty Ltd (XPENG ANZ) today confirms Australian pricing and specification for the XPENG X9, the brand's flagship battery-electric seven-seat MPV. Orders are now open through authorised XPENG dealers across Australia, with customer deliveries commencing shortly.

The X9 is XPENG's first three-row model to launch locally, combining premium comfort, intelligent technology and long-range electric performance in a spacious family vehicle. The X9 is also the first XPENG model in Australia equipped with the company's fully self-developed Turing AI chip. Delivering 750 TOPS of computing power, it enables faster system response, more natural voice interaction and smoother navigation visualisation.

The X9 launches in Australia in two variants with the following Manufacturer's Recommended Retail Pricing (excluding on-road costs):

• X9 FWD Standard Range – up to 535km WLTP at AUD $89,900 plus on road costs

• X9 AWD Performance – up to 580km WLTP at AUD $109,900 plus on road costs

WLTP figures are based on standardised testing. Actual driving range may vary.

Platform and performance

The X9 is built on XPENG's 800V silicon carbide (SiC) high-voltage platform with 5C ultra-fast charging capability. Peak DC charging power of up to 542kW on the AWD Performance variant enables a 10 to 80 percent recharge in as little as 12 minutes, under test conditions.

To improve both ride comfort and manoeuvrability, every X9 features Active Rear-Wheel Steering and intelligent dual-chamber air suspension, working with XPENG's AI chassis system to deliver confident handling in urban environments while maintaining stability on the highway.

Its aerodynamic "Starship" design delivers a drag coefficient of just 0.236, while preserving the interior space expected of a full-size MPV.

Interior and technology

The X9 redefines MPV versatility with its spacious flat-floor cabin and intelligent seating flexibility. With all seven seats in use, it still provides a generous 721-litre boot capacity, capable of carrying seven 20-inch carry-on suitcases. The 60/40 split-folding second and third rows allow the cabin to seamlessly adapt to different needs, from a premium four-seat lounge layout to practical five, six or seven-seat configurations, while one-touch folding unlocks up to 2554 litres of cargo space.

The X9's second-row features XPENG's Zero Gravity seats, with 14-way electric adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage functions. Engineered to deliver a first-class relaxation experience, the seats position the body in an optimal posture, aligning the heart and knee levels to reduce pressure and maximise passenger comfort.

Technology highlights include a 21.4-inch rear entertainment display, 27-speaker XOPERA premium audio system, and a voice-controlled integrated refrigerator (0 to 50°C).

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295-powered infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA software updates and XPENG's intelligent voice assistant.

XPILOT Assist Driver Assistance

XPILOT Assist is supported by XPENG’s in-house AI Turing Chip with 750 TOPs computing power and combines cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors to support a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance technologies, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering Control, Automatic Emergency Braking and Blind Spot Detection.

Parking assistance includes Enhanced Auto Parking Assist, Remote Parking Assist, Auto Exit Parking Assist and a 360-degree surround-view camera with transparent chassis view, making everyday manoeuvres easier in a vehicle of this size.

Driver assistance systems support the driver and do not replace safe driving practices. Drivers remain responsible for the vehicle at all times.

Feature availability is subject to the final Australian specification. XPILOT Assist is a driver assistance system designed to support the driver. It is not a substitute for safe driving. The driver always remains responsible for the vehicle.

Safety

Built to meet global top safety standards, the XPENG X9 delivers comprehensive protection through advanced passive and intelligent active safety technologies. The X9 has been engineered with a high-strength body structure, intelligent safety systems and advanced battery protection technologies to provide confidence and security for every journey.

Warranty programme

Eligible XPENG vehicles sold by XPENG ANZ from 1 June 2026 are covered under the following manufacturer warranty program:

• 7-year / unlimited-km vehicle warranty for private owners.

• 7-year / 160,000-km vehicle warranty for commercial use, whichever occurs first.

• 8 year / 160,000-km traction battery, Battery Management System, drive motor and Intelligent Power Unit, whichever occurs first.

• 5 year / unlimited km paint warranty

• 7 year / unlimited km anti-corrosion and anti-rust warranty.

The recommended service interval is every 12 months or 20,000 km, whichever occurs first. Warranty is delivered through XPENG ANZ’s factory-backed local operation and authorised service network. Full terms, conditions and eligibility are available in the XPENG ANZ warranty documentation.
